About the role


As a Veteran Hospital Registered Nurse, you will provide and coordinate patient care and educate patients and the public about illnesses, diseases, and heath conditions. You are a licensed medical professional who will work with patients, doctors, and other health care workers while providing a high level of direct care to patient.

Experience within the past 3 years is required.

Certifications/Degrees:

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse.
  • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification, degrees, and/or licenses must be kept up to date at all times.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.


Schedule:

  • The Registered Nurses shall perform on-site nursing services for varying periods of time in various areas of the Medical Center and based on their qualifications, may be required to work in areas of the highest need on the date of their scheduled shifts.
  • Coverage may include weekends, federal holidays, days, evenings, or overnights, and are variable within a 24-hour period.
  • RNs shall be required to work any regular or irregular tour, with 8-hour and 12-hour tours typically being:
    8 Hour Tour:
    Day 0730 -1600
    Evening 1530 - 2400
    Night 2330 - 0800
    12 Hour Tour:
    Day 0700 -1930
    Night 1900-0730
    (12-hour short shift - 8 hours - 0700 -1530; 1500 - 2330; and 2300 - 0730)
