About the role

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Nurse is responsible for a variety of activities aimed at reducing the risk of infection transmission to patients, visitors and employees. IPAC implements activities which include: Collection and analysis of infection data. Development and review of policies. Consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies. Education efforts directed at interventions to reduce infection risks. Implementation of changes mandated by regulatory, accrediting, and licensing agencies. Application of epidemiological principles, including activities directed at improving patient outcomes. The nurse supports activities that include participation on committees, work projects and research. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Association for Professional in Infection Control and Epidemiology provide the basis for practice. 

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.

Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Nursing, required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum one year of RN experience. 
Knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, and/or infection prevention and control required.
Acute care experience within the last 2 years preferred.
Adapts to unpredictable situations related to infection prevention and control.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Works flexible hours that may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Strong computer skills required.
Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred on hire and required within 3 years of employment.
