We are seeking a General Maintenance worker to provide facility maintenance support across approximately 116,800 square feet of manned buildings, along with occasional assignments at additional utility sites throughout the region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring buildings and equipment remain operational, safe, and in good repair. Selected candidates will also serve as backup coverage during personnel absences and support routine facility needs. Work requires hands-on experience and practical skills across multiple trades. Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs and maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Replace or repair electrical receptacles, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Patch walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Paint structures and equipment as needed.
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
- Hang doors, install door locks, and replace broken windowpanes.
- Provide general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Support event setup by arranging tables, chairs, and equipment in the main conference room.
- Travel occasionally to substations across the DSW region for maintenance needs.
- Serve as backup coverage in the event of personnel absences.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance.
- Practical skills in a variety of trades such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and basic electrical work.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items and perform physical labor.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel.
- 2+ years of experience in general building maintenance or facility support.
- Experience working in government or industrial facility settings.
- Familiarity with federal facility standards and safety protocols.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
