Accounting Administrator - Seguin, TX

SUMMARY:

This position will be working with time and attendance and payroll activities. This position will interact with several other plant personnel to ensure that generally accepted accounting principles and Tyson accounting policies are adhered to. This position will involve the processing of TM’s pay and making sure they are paid correctly. This may involve in-house auditing of records and inventories and other duties as assigned. This includes verifying and checking documents for reasonableness. Reviewing production data and generating useful feedback reports to operations management on a daily basis. Other duties include data entry, filing, general accounting clerical duties and other duties as assigned. Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks such as setting priorities, evaluating results, and coordinating with others. Good judgment and proper documentation must be used at all times. Applicant will be expected to cross-train in all areas of the office to provide vacation and sick coverage.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Knowledge of high school subject matter such as mathematics, grammar, office equipment, and business practices. Associate’s Degree preferred.

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility.  Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.

Experience: 1+ year verifiable accounting experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required; must be proficient at MS Office & Excel; must possess good data entry skills and be able to audit and correct Excel spreadsheets to facilitate changes within the process. MS Access & SAP experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills.

Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in teams.
