Job Details

Participates and assists in the care of surgery patients as a part of the surgical services team.

Job Description

Participates and assists in the pre-operative preparation of surgery patients. 
Participates and assists in the post-operative care of the surgical patients.
Performs therapeutic procedures as directed by the supervising surgeon and in conformance with service management protocols. 
Provides continuity of patient care in relationship to the surgical service team including surgeons, residents and support staff. 
Completes admission and discharge, as required, in conjunction with attendings and residents. 
Coordinate inpatients care assuring labs and tests are appropriately ordered and recorded, and that floor care is rendered responsibly. 
Completes chart notes for patients in the hospital, either in the ICU or on the floor. 
Participates in Department of Surgery M&M and patient care meetings. 
Communicates and coordinates patient care services with other departments (medicine, neurology etc…)
