New Home Sales Consultant Team Leader
Location: Des Moines, IA
As the Team Leader for New Home Sales Consultants, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals representing a premier custom homebuilder. This role combines hands-on sales leadership with frontline client engagement. You’ll oversee sales strategy execution, drive team performance, and ensure each consultant delivers a seamless, high-touch experience to buyers of $600K–$2M homes.
What You’ll Do
Lead by Example
Personally engage with high-value prospects and homebuyers to model best-in-class consultative selling practices.
Host strategic open houses and showroom events that generate qualified leads and foster strong community engagement.
Team Coaching & Development
Recruit, onboard, and train new sales consultants to uphold our brand standards and sales processes.
Provide ongoing coaching through pipeline reviews, roleplays, and live feedback.
Foster a culture of accountability and growth through regular 1:1s and performance check-ins.
Sales Execution & Process Oversight
Ensure consistent lead follow-up, prospecting cadence (8+ quality contacts/day), and weekly appointment-setting (4–6 per rep).
Monitor CRM usage and pipeline activity across the team for compliance and opportunity tracking.
Enforce structured handoff protocols to operations, design, and build teams with accuracy and urgency.
Performance & Culture Leadership
Track KPIs and team metrics; identify bottlenecks, celebrate wins, and course-correct swiftly.
Inspire with authenticity—demonstrating persistence, calm under pressure, and client-first integrity. Promote a winning environment: no drama, no shortcuts—just high expectations and shared success.
Who You Are
A Proven Sales Leader
You’ve led or coached successful B2C sales teams, ideally in homebuilding, solar, remodeling, or other high-ticket sales environments.
You know how to balance the pressure of individual performance with the reward of team growth.
A Systems-Driven Coach
You believe in playbooks, not improvisation. You’re disciplined, data-driven, and thrive on consistency, structure, and results.
A High-EQ Communicator
You coach with clarity and candor, provide feedback with empathy, and lead through example. You align team energy with company mission and always prioritize the buyer’s long-term interests.
Accountable and Process-Driven
You follow through. You stick to the system. You’re not waiting for the market to improve—you’re creating opportunities with the tools you’re given.
Coachable and Adaptable
You don’t resist feedback; you seek it. You want a playbook and you run the plays. When you get knocked down, you bounce back fast.
Calm, Genuine, and Persistent
No sales theater. Just consistent, authentic energy with a strong sense of urgency and follow-up. You don’t ride emotional highs and lows—you bring professionalism daily.
Communicative and Strategic
You ask the right questions, actively listen, and communicate with clarity. You’re proactive, not reactive. You don't 'check in'—you follow up with intent.
Integrity-First
You are transparent, honest, and customer-centric. You don't sell people into homes they shouldn't buy. You help them make the right decision, then deliver on what was promised.
What You Need
- 3–10 years of B2C sales experience with at least 3 years in a team lead, trainer, or coach role.
- Experience in custom or new home sales is a strong plus.
- Realtors need not apply—this is a sales role, not a listing agent position.
- Comfortable with flexible schedules including evenings and Sundays.
- Willingness to work fully onsite from the showroom and open houses.
- Proficiency using CRM and prospecting tools (BuilderTrend, MLS, etc.).
- Business casual dress—clean, polished, and professional.
Why Our Client
Our client specializes in custom homebuilding with a clear process, predictable timelines, and high-touch client experiences. We're not the cheapest builder, and we don't want to be. Our team is growing to meet demand for $600K–$2M homes in one of Iowa’s most dynamic markets. Join a company where:
- The leads are warm. You’ll walk into open houses and showroom appointments with real buyer interest.
- The expectations are high. But so is the earning potential and opportunity for long-term growth.
- The culture is built for winners. No drama, no politics—just high performers and good people building a great brand.
