Job Description
The Associate Director – Capital Procurement for Animal Health will establish sourcing strategies, drive innovation and exemplify Procurement excellence! The Associate Director will establish Capital Procurement (Construction & Equipment) Services and Execution sourcing strategies for large molecule manufacturing facilities located in North America & South America. You will lead regional category-based procurement strategies, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management with key suppliers. You will drive sourcing strategies, ensure alignment and build a high-performance engagement model.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:
- Performance - Drive competitive sourcing events (RFIs & RFPs) and support vendor selection, commercial negotiation, and market awareness.
- Procurement - Serve as a leader and exemplar of Sourcing Management.
- Supplier Enabled Innovation & Relationship Management - Implement Supplier Enabled Innovation with the key suppliers to foster innovation, manage supplier relationship & performance, establish a Governance Model, and ensure continuous improvement with a focus on OpEx activities.
- Miscellaneous – Incumbent may be asked to support other areas of the business including but not limited to:
- Outsourcing Manufacturing (including Network Actions): Bidding, evaluating proposals, leading make vs. buy analysis, implementing and managing Contract Management organizations.
- Business Development: Supporting the analysis, acquisition and integration of companies/products and balancing within the network.
- Departmental Projects: Supporting projects that drive our goals and metrics
Education:
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferably in Engineering, Science, or Business.
Required:
- A minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience. Pharmaceutical/ Large Molecule Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
- Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal coaching.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Strong background in strategic sourcing and / or background in Capital Procurement Sourcing or Execution preferably within construction and equipment sourcing.
- Animal Health or Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous and complex projects requiring frequent communication, organizing/time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and manage the change required to execute.
- Expert knowledge of technology sourcing activities including RFP development, bid response evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Strong negotiating and contracting skills essential; global experience.
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with ambiguous and dynamic situation.
- Ability to work with senior management with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience working with internal legal operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people from diverse disciplines
