Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests under the direct supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist. Neuropsychological testing primarily involves the administration and scoring of paper-and-pencil cognitive tests (e.g., tests of memory, attention, language, problem solving) and mental health questionnaires. Additionally, the psychometrist will also make note of behavioral observations during the assessment that may be used by the neuropsychologist to aid in test interpretation. The psychometrist may also be responsible for collecting demographic information from a patient.Our patient population consists of adults of all ages (18-90+) with neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions. The most common referral diagnoses include neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias), movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease), epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. Patients often commonly have comorbid psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety).
The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, conscientious, efficient, flexible, and will enjoy working within a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will also be able to quickly learn and become independent on administration and scoring procedures for neuropsychological testing, and will be committed to providing a high standard of patient care.
Responsibilities And Duties:
1. 65%: Administers and scores neuropsychological and psychological tests.2. 10%: Scores tests administered by neuropsychologist/psychologist.
3. 10%: Provides written documentation of the patient’s behavior during testing.
4. 5%: Participates in establishing job requirements and goals and performs duties at the desired level of competency.
5. 5%: Reviews and ensures timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of patient information, test scores, and testing materials.
6. 5%: Complies with Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
