JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

University Health Services (UHS), a department within the Division of Student Affairs is seeking a Health Services Assistant Team Leader, for its comprehensive on-campus healthcare resource specializing in outpatient student health including the treatment of medically urgent problems and ongoing health concerns.  UHS provides preventive care, education, and resources to help students live a healthy lifestyle.

Primary duties include: 

  • Creating and monitoring a daily coverage schedule for up to 10 employees.

  • Run weekly morning meetings and take meeting minutes

  • Serve as a point of contact for other Patient Services staff to come to with questions and/or needs

  • Schedule appointments

  • Verify and enter insurance information

  • Take patient payments

  • Provide backup coverage to check in areas when other staff are out of the office

Requirements for the position include:

  • Self-motivated individual with personal integrity to organize work and work independently.

  • Previous experience with healthcare customer service.

  • Demonstrates communication skills necessary to approach staff with concerns and to help mitigate staff conflicts.

  • Previous experience with health insurance eligibility and verification processes.

This position requires independent work while reviewing progress and providing updates to the supervisor.  Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (oral and written) skills are essential. Attention to detail and good judgment are vital requirements. The successful candidate will have the willingness to work in a team-based environment as well as an eagerness to support and engage with all departmental initiatives as well as the Division of Student Affairs.
