Job Description

This position will work as a Sr. Logistics Quality Engineer for the GS (Global Business Services) North America Team. The primary focus of this position will be to lead the logistics quality group which oversees the Quality Management Systems for GS Logistics NA. They will support with IATF and ISO9001 compliance and will help drive quality objectives throughout the GS Logistics NA network.

This position may be located in Farmington Hills, MI, Atlanta, GA or Summerville, SC.

  • Responsible to oversee the GS Logistics North America Quality Management System.
  • Support with IATF, ISO9001 and other Industry Standard Requirements.
  • Coordinate GS logistics NA Quality Management System (ISO9001 / IATF) audit scheduling and readiness.
  • Provide onsite support during internal & external audits.
  • Responsible for the QMS documentation support including level 4 document creation & rollout, documentation formats, document control and document repository administration.
  • Support with audit readiness gap assessments, pre-audit checklists and lessons learned.
  • Support the achievement of Quality Targets.
  • Support logistics with problem solving training, continuous improvement efforts and IQIS training by enforcing lean and BPS principles.
  • Liaison between GS Central Quality and GS Logistics.
  • Helps to coordinate and implement quality methods and tools.
  • Identify, analyze and address factors driving negative trends and business obstacles and produce actionable solutions.
  • Support with yearly FMEA reviews and maturity assessments and serve as process subject matter expert and resource on FMEA method usage, tools and creation of evaluations and reports.
  • Build and manage customer relationships.
  • Travel Expectation: 30 - 40% (mainly domestic)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Logistics, Business or a Supply Chain discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the field of quality and logistics.
  • 5+ years of experience with FMEA’s.
  • 5+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with IATF and ISO9001 Audit processes.
  • 5+ years of experience with problem solving and 8D Process.
  • 5+ years of experience with CIP (continuous improvement)/ PDCA process.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Lean Production Systems.
  • A strong understanding of the SAP processes.
  • Very good analytical, creative, and communicative skills to analyze problems.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, customers, and internal contacts.
  • Candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and activities at one time.
  • Teamwork skills - Candidate must be flexible in their work style and be able to work with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
  • Collaborative and problem-solving way of thinking are a must.
  • German and Spanish language skills beneficial.
