Director of Enterprise Testing

You will help lead a team of 20+ experienced technical professionals to ensure Ford Credit products and services meet our customer’s expectations.  Candidate will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, SREs and Change Management to guide new features from inception to release, instilling a quality mindset and improving team velocity. The candidate will own QA/QE governance and standards, develop a test data management strategy and define and execute end to end test scenarios. They will provide quality assurance oversight in the production process, ensuring that infrastructure and software adhere to current internal and external policies, procedures and defect standards. An ideal detail-oriented candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach (bias toward action) with commitment to achieving Zero Defects. This opportunity will report to the Vice President, Infrastructure, SRE and Security. 

What you'll do…

• Define and expand test automation, test frameworks and testing tools .
• Define testing strategy for entire application stack including unit, integration, regression, performance and end to end testing. 
• Conduct software testing, verification, validation resulting in fewer defects being released to production and fewer incidents caused by changes.
• Ensure existance of adequate, comprehensive and obfuscated test data for Ford Credit products.
• Continually improve strategy and tests to ensure optimal coverage and efficient QE practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Software Engineers to define how new applications/features should be tested and drive automation for the same.
• Govern the creation and maintenance of testing evidence to be compliant with any/all audits.
• Identify and encourage the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, observability, eventing and maintainability.
• Use technology to improve business outcomes and more efficient processes.
• Establish quality gates and quality metrics for the organization.
• Work with ITSM to create appropriate quality approvals for changes and releases.

You'll have…

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience 
• Experience leading an Enterprise level testing effort for a transformation, merger or similar.
• 15+ years of progressively increasing QE experience.
• Experience leading a global team of 15 or more resources. 
• History of leadership QA/QE role in a financial, banking or similarly regulated industry.

• Demonstrated experience implementing complex quality engineering strategy for business solutions with several integration points.
• Proven experience in developing test strategies for cloud based solutions. 
• History of using automated testing, test data management and continuous feedback to deliver high quality, production ready products and features to the market.
• Track record of strong collaborative relationships with business and development partners demonstrating ability to influence priorities and share knowledge.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Experience with SAFe and/or Agile methodologies.
