The Role
This position will focus on the execution of internal strategy to optimize the effectiveness and performance of the Growth team. This will include, but not limited to, the management of special projects as determined by the Head of Growth that support that defined strategies. We are looking for a seasoned leader who has a solid experience with Sales/Business Development background to ensure department goals are aligned with the overall business objectives. The scope of this role is to partner with the Head of Growth to work across Cover Whale functions to ensure business development has the tools they need to achieve their deliverables, we are effectively managing the lifecycle of our customers and partners, and we are utilizing analytics to the fullest extent to enable our business objectives.
Please note: This is an on-site role with the requirement to be in the office at least 4 times per week.
Responsibilities:
- Motivate the business development team and establish processes that create accountability to ensure objectives are met
- Work with the Head of Growth to direct the planning, staffing, budgeting, and expense prioritization and ensure planning, forecasting, and budgeting efforts are appropriately integrated with other planning processes within Cover Whale;
- Work cross-functional to remove any operation/organizational barriers;
- Establish clear deal structure and compliance guidelines and measure business development adherence to defined processes;
- Partner with senior management to identify opportunities for business development process improvement while fostering an environment of continuous improvement;
- Provide weekly perspective on the state of the business and recommendations on how to maximize premium revenue;
- Manage and update the business development process, forecasting, pipeline management, KPIs, reports, and dashboards in CRM;
- Refine customer segmentation, assist with territory management, and create a plan to enhance renewal premiums;
- Assist in the design of strategic plans to reach premium targets and create processes for accountability within the business development team for the execution of said plans;
- Act as lead on critical projects, as determined by the Head of Growth or members of senior leadership, to ensure successful execution;
- Develop and manage the progress of weekly, monthly, and quarterly premium objectives;
- Meet with internal stakeholders to assess company performance and patch the gaps.
Compensation:
The Expected base pay for the role will be between $155,000-$175,000 at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonus and other Cover Whale-sponsored total rewards/benefits.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
-Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, marketing, or a related field
-8 years plus of experience in a similar role (insurance background is preferred, but not required)
Must-Have Skills/Abilities
- Operational background, specifically in a Sales and/or Business Development organization
- Demonstrated passion for management with the ability to elevate team/individual performance;
- Proven experience with project management. The ability to turn complex problems into action;
- Track record of working in a fast-paced
