You will learn how to prepare, execute, and sustain process improvement as well as develop your management skills. You will work with two experienced Continuous Improvement leaders who will teach you as much as you are willing and able to learn. Joining us shows that you prioritize improvement / excellence in the workplace and in yourself

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Support small to medium transformation initiatives that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions focused on continuous improvement.
  • Compile and analyze key process indicators that focus on organization objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met.
  • Support development of Lean training materials to ensure a successful continuous improvement program.
  • Assist with internal lean trainings and facilitate Kaizen events.
  • Participate in time observations, value stream mapping, manufacturing standard work, process certification, PFMEA, & Root Cause Problem Solving event facilitation and manages pre & post event execution. 

What You Will Learn:

  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution.
  • Problem-solving methodology (DAISE).
  • Application of Lean principles and methods (VSM, Standardize Work, Process Mapping, etc). Kaizen methodology.
  • Gain Knowledge of how the overall factory operates and communicates. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Industrial Engineering Coursework Preferred
  • Course on Lean Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma training
