Primary Function

As the Sr. Product Manager, you will plan, organize, and collaborate on an assigned product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Identify and articulate to the sales force the company’s distinctive competence and the product line’s unique advantages.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research with existing and prospective customers, assimilate customer and market requirements.
  • Develop business cases for new products, plan and implement product launches.
  • Manage the marketing mix post-launch. Perform product life cycle management to maximize product line profitability.
  • Monitor market and technological developments and incorporate information into the overall corporate product program strategy.
  • Conduct research and provide in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning.
  • Create detailed business, marketing and product requirements.
  • Create and maintain the product plan for all channels served by the product line.
  • Collect market and product requirements from internal and external sources (customers, prospects, sales personnel, etc.), produce product requirement documents, evaluate against company product program strategies, evaluate the commercial feasibility of the requirement and determine whether it should be included in the product plan.
  • Identify and document competitive threats, industry innovations and other industry related news.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive pricing strategy, cost reduction programs, and market segment analysis for product lines.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure the product is correctly positioned and communicated to the market.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to Sales management.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to develop sales tools and training programs.
  • Create and maintain product presentations. Give presentations to both internal and external parties on current and future product developments.
  • Publish regular product update documents, white papers and technical communiqués as related to new functionalities and other high-priority product issues.
  • Develop and maintain content for product and company collateral material.
  • Support trade shows and other company-sponsored events.
  • Act as the point of contact for Sales and Customer Service for technical questions that cannot be answered with existing materials.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or marketing. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in product management, preferably in a related industry, selling through wholesale distribution or big box retailers.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with product management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the water heating and treatment industry, including understanding of regulatory requirements, energy efficiency standards, and emerging technologies, would be advantageous.
