About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing sales and purchase invoices, managing expense claims, and handling payment runs.

You will reconcile creditor and bank accounts, manage sub-ledgers, and ensure timely debt collection.

A key aspect of the role involves maintaining accuracy and compliance within the company’s financial systems, operating in line with our corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

We offer a flexible working arrangement, with approximately one in-person team meeting per quarter at our Leamington Spa office. You should feel confident working independently in a remote environment, but if you prefer a hybrid setup, you're welcome to work from our Leamington Spa office as often as you like. 

What you'll be doing...


  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts and cash book subledger in our Business Central system
  • Daily coding and posting of purchase invoices onto Business Central ensuring payments made to creditors on a timely basis
  • Weekly supplier payment runs including management of aged debt
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all sub-ledgers
  • Raising purchase orders and seeking authorisation, matching creditor invoices to purchase orders and confirm receipt of goods/services
  • Creating sales orders and sales invoices on a timely basis; usually monthly and ad hoc
  • Reconciling creditor account statements and performing necessary credit control as required including any necessary stakeholder escalation
  • Entering company expenses into Business Central ensuring that all payments are made on time and accurately
  • Entering the transactions relating to the company credit card ensuring that all transactions are posted in a timely and accurate manner
  • Chasing and loading provider statements and fees into Intelligent Office system
  • Reconciling Intelligent Office system to Business Central accounting system on a monthly basis
  • Managing Finance inbox and answering queries from employees and third parties
  • Assisting the Finance team in providing commercial support to the business
  • Assist with processing of month end journals if required
  • Creation of fixed asset additions in the asset register
  • Assisting with annual external audit preparation
  • Adhere to all Information Security policies and procedures
  • Sign and adhere to the Employee Personal Data Confidentiality policy

About You

Your Experience
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified, or currently studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA – Essential
  • Experience using Business Central or Navision – Preferred, but not essential 
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – Essential
  • Solid experience in managing both purchase and sales ledgers – Essential
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment – Essential
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk factors and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop effective solutions – Desirable
