We are hiring a Asset Manager. The Asset Manager will be responsible for optimizing the lifecycle, performance, and return on investment (ROI) of physical assets (machinery, equipment, and technology) to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. They will develop maintenance strategies, tracks inventory, manage capital investments, and collaborate with teams to align capital assets with company goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles to identify, track, and eliminate chronic equipment failures
  • Lead investigations into major equipment failures to identify underlying causes and implement permanent technical solutions as part of root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Ranks equipment criticality by performing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to rank equipment by its importance to production. Adjusts maintenance levels accordingly
  • Establish technical standards for new equipment purchases to ensure they are designed for maintainability and appropriate for the environment being operated
  • Build and maintain a capital asset management program, including equipment lifecycle management and planned expenditures for equipment end of life replacement.
  • Work cross functionally to support asset management for manufacturing, quality, R&D and facilities teams.
  • Partner with key personnel across the organization to align mid-term and long-range planning initiatives with the capital asset program. Highlight key concerns and/or gaps between planning initiatives and current asset strategies. 
  • Utilize statistics and structured decision tree models to determine appropriate actions, including condition-based, time-based and run-to-failure strategies. Apply the appropriate strategy based on business needs.
  • Build system processes to check for hidden failures in protective and safety systems (weekly testing of emergency stops, light curtains, relief valves).
  • Create operator-based maintenance program and train operators to handle routine maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  • Form cross-functional teams and lead improvement meetings to aid in solving recurring problems with equipment and systems (identify bad actors).
  • Partner with Facilities Manager to optimize equipment maintenance intervals and activities.
  • Build key performance indicators that track program performance.
  • Leverage data and experience from existing equipment to improve designs for next generation tools, processes and machines.
  • Work to ISO 9001: 2015 & 17025 standards.
  • Assist in auditing company programs including preventive maintenance and calibration activities upon request.

Required Skills/Education:

  • B.S. in Engineering or a Science related field; or H.S. Diploma with trade school and/or formal training on equipment and instrument calibration.
  • 10+ years’ work experience in general facility, production, R&D and QC equipment and instrument qualification, calibration and maintenance.
  • Proven experience managing capital assets, ideally 8–10 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as BMRAM
  • Proficiency of Windows including Outlook, Excel and
