Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The intern in this role will support the electrical design team in research and development of technologies and components for FCCC vehicles. This position will allow the intern to experience the design, validation, and production processes for these vehicles.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for commercial vehicles.
  • Work with engineering personnel to determine the most effective and economical designs to be used in products.
  • Support design engineers and Engineering Validation Center personnel to analyze as well as resolve issues encountered during integration validation.
  • Provide creative, technically feasible solutions.
  • Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement through the use of best practices and the development of innovative changes.
  • Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June) 
  • Preferred Majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems
  • Strong interest in Mechatronics and vehicle electrical systems
  • Basic understanding of Vehicle networks (CAN & Automotive Ethernet)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
