About the role

Description

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (New College) at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks a dynamic individual and engaged scholar who will assist with developing and delivering the curriculum for the campus immersion and/or digital immersion (online) undergraduate and graduate psychology programs. We are particularly interested in individuals who can contribute to our global link pathways in psychology for learners located in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position with an appointment at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, to start in August 2025. The position allows for the possibility of campus teaching and/or remote work, subject to annual approval by the university for remote work exceptions. This position carries a teaching load of 4 courses per semester and service expectations.

This faculty member will be responsible for co-lecturing international courses each semester (usually two to four, equivalent to one credit hour each), as well as teaching one to two ASU courses per semester. Co-lecturing involves collaboratively teaching courses offered by ASU’s global partner institutions (https://global.asu.edu/what-we-do-/global-university-partnerships ; https://www.cintana.com/cintana-alliance/), in partnership with one or more faculty members from those institutions. While most co-lecturing will be conducted virtually, the role requires international travel for short-term, in-person teaching assignments (usually lasting 3 to 14 days) two to four times per year. The successful candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate and teach in Spanish.

Teaching faculty also contribute to the service mission of programs in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences through student outreach activities, service on committees, industry or community engagement, and research engagement and mentoring. Faculty are also expected to remain engaged through professional development and external service.
