Examples of duties

This position directs maintenance operations, oversees facility upkeep and leads staff in completing projects throughout Chapman State Park. The role ensures that buildings, grounds and equipment remain safe, clean, and functioning properly. As a Park Maintenance Supervisor 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Work Planning: Schedule tasks, assign duties and review completed work for maintenance staff
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Park Manager to address maintenance needs and plan solutions
• Facility Upkeep: Manage water systems, wastewater systems and related reporting requirements
• Technical Skills: Use carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry and other trades to complete park projects
• Staff Supervision: Evaluate employee performance, handle disciplinary actions, and approve leave requests
• Safety Inspection: Identify hazards, check buildings, and equipment and ensure compliance with regulations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience in two of the following: electrical trades, plumbing trades carpentry trades, mechanical trades, water or wastewater treatment plant operations, or the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
