About the role

SUMMARY

The Application & Business Solutions Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of business systems that support multiple lines of business. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and leadership skills to guide a team managing a diverse array of software applications. The Team Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of business operations by handling both strategic oversight and day-to-day application management.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

Extensive experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and custom-developed software implementations.

Comprehensive understanding of cross-functional IT operations and processes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Leads IT staff in providing solutions and identifying functional requirements in collaboration with business units.

Supports the design, and implementation of application and data system enhancements and upgrades.

Engages in resolving application production issues and communicate statuses to business stakeholders.

Leads the development of robust technology capabilities, including establishing best practices, patterns, and standards.

Ensures all systems are up-to-date and properly maintained, including the timely deployment of necessary patches.

Collaborates with internal IT teams to ensure resource allocations meet both maintenance and project requirements.

Establishes and maintains professional relationships with managers and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to business partners across the enterprise.

Establishes vendor relationships and negotiates negotiation to secure cost-effective solutions and services.

Delivers progress reports, project metrics, and status updates to leadership.

Develops and communicates training programs and documentation for end users and related activities.

Manages project scope changes proactively, develops contingency plans, and identifies potential roadblocks.

Participates in budget planning processes and administers the operating budget effectively.

Evaluates and mentors staff, assess technical skills, identifies training needs, and ensures availability of necessary tools and materials.

Sets performance expectations for team members, guides their career development, and mentors their success in meeting objectives.

Ensures high quality service delivery, in alignment with project objectives, customer expectations and organizational standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field of study and a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
