Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Role Purpose:

Supervisory responsibilities for logistics operations for a cable manufacturing facility. The position will have supervisory responsibility for hourly associates and a contingent workforce. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and guidance. Incumbents in this position have the opportunity to progress to various roles in the organization.  
 

Day to Day Responsibilities:
 
•    Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment in the warehouse, shipping and receiving areas.  Responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions.
•    Responsible for development and implementation of activities in shipping, receiving and packaging to meet operational goals, quality, and cost objectives. Develop, train and coach employees to be responsible and accountable for their individual and team objectives.
•    Manage employee time and attendance for timely and accurate payroll processing.
•    Lead, coach and participate on teams to accomplish individual, department, plant and division objectives.
•    Maintain metric tracking and reporting, including shipping and receiving performance and costs.
•    Ensure raw material and finished goods inventory accuracy.  Responsible for ORM and FGs inventory management processes, reporting and accuracy.
 

 

Required Experiences/Education:
 
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    Minimum 3 years in a production environment
•    Minimum 5 years of logistics, shipping, and/or receiving experience
•    Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
•    Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
•    Able to work a modified night shift schedule
•    SAP system knowledge with regards to shipping and inventory functions preferred
 

 

Hours of Work / Work Schedule: 

• Normal schedule: Night Shift; rotating schedule 12 hours

The range for this position is $75,761.00 - $104,172.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
