About the Role:

Job Summary

Performs monthly life safety inspection compliance. Responsible for monitoring documentation and corrective repairs related to life safety code. Documents all activities on the preventive and corrective maintenance systems. Maintains and oversees fire/smoke partition permits and above ceiling permits.  

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: Four (4) years' experience with life safety compliance

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent computer and communication skills

• Able to read blueprints and understands basic structural and architectural design requirements

• Understands and interprets the life safety code

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintains, inspects and documents fire and smoke partitions.

• Maintains and regularly inspects all fire/smoke walls and doors for compliance. 

• Properly seals penetrations in fire and smoke partitions.

• Inspects and documents condition of emergency lights monthly. 

• Inspects and documents condition of all exit signage monthly. 

• Inspects and documents condition of all fire extinguishers and kitchen automatic fire extinguishing systems.

• Maintains corrective work order status of life safety repairs.

• Maintains above ceiling permits and inspects for proper compliance. 

• Maintains fire/smoke partition permits and inspects for proper compliance.

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve processes.

• Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment in required situations.

• Completes all assigned Health stream courses.
