Reports to: Aquatic Manager or Aquatic Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION
Aquatic Center Front Desk Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, greeting and checking in members, handling cash transactions and registration for services, programs and facility memberships and having a solid knowledge of Des Plaines Park District operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Greeting the public. Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service. Provide information on Park District activities and facilities. Inform incoming guests of specific, noticeable rules.
- Responsible for cash control of front desk cash drawer and incoming cash registrations. Enter all transactions into POS system, collect payment, issue correct change, and receipt for all
admission. Cash out drawer at end of shift. - Answering all incoming phone calls and in person inquiries, addressing caller inquiries or routing to the proper person, if necessary.
- Recognize all accepted forms of discounts and proof of residency.
- Register applicants for Aquatic & Fitness Center memberships, Resident I.D. Cards, and programs.
- Sell memberships, programs and rentals. Give tours as needed. Take reservations for classes, parties, rentals, etc.
- Perform office duties such as photocopying, receive and distribute incoming mail or other project needs for the Park District staff.
- Print out class rosters for instructors. Keep track of participants coming in for programming to ensure maximums are not exceeded.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of telephone system, copy machine, building intercom, pass card printer, any other office equipment, POS system and RecTrac software.
- Check with supervisor daily, when conflicts or time does not allow completion of work for prioritization of work to be accomplished.
- Assist as the On Deck Manager of PLAC in the event of an emergency, which may include incidents of a serious nature, according to Crisis Manual.
- Make decisions and problem solve issues that arise during shift.
- Be aware of all activities scheduled in the facility during shift.
- Work with all Park District and Prairie Lakes staff as a team.
OTHER DUTIES
- Communicate openly with Aquatic Manager and other staff to ensure the smooth operations of the facility.
- Keep work area, lobby and facility clean. Including vacuuming, dusting and wiping down surfaces.
- Complete tracking reports as requested by Facility Manager.
- Direct patrons in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual
