- The Global Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics and Modeling (DMPK&M) department at Takeda is seeking a strong candidate to be a part of the Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling team for supporting drug-drug interaction (DDI) and PK prediction in Takeda’s global research and development pipeline for all therapeutic areas
- The candidate is expected to have demonstrated experience in conducting PBPK modeling using Simcyp, Gastroplus, PKSim or other relevant software
Accountabilities:
A successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of PBPK models for small molecules and biotherapeutics supporting discovery and development programs. The accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to –
- Develop the PBPK framework for preclinical species and humans in Simcyp, Gastroplus, Matlab, Phoenix or other relevant software
- Apply the models to new chemical entities for understanding tissue distribution to inform drug-target coverage and safety margins, predicting absorption and PK, and evaluating the impact of drug-drug interactions
- Predict PK in special populations (e.g. hepatic or renal impairment patients, pediatrics, pregnant population, diseased population, etc.)
- As required, develop novel PBPK models to answer mechanistic questions.
