Mission:

The Head of the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) is a senior executive role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ALM function within the Bank. This includes managing the balance sheet, optimizing the risk-return profile, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial risk management and deep knowledge of ALM principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Balance Sheet Management: Oversee and manage the bank’s balance sheet, ensuring optimal asset-liability matching to mitigate risks and enhance profitability.
  • Structural Risk Management: In collaboration with Market Risk department, Identify, assess, and manage financial risks related to interest rates, liquidity, and capital adequacy. Implement strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Pricing and profitability overview: Analysis and validation of commercial products pricing proposals, optimizing the risk-return profile. Maintenance of current Openbank's financial planning tool and of the transfer pricing policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including Basel III/IV, IFRS, and other local and international standards.
  • Liquidity Management: Monitor and manage the company's liquidity position, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet short-term and long-term obligations.
  • Capital Management: Develop and implement strategies for capital optimization, ensuring adequate capital levels to support business growth and regulatory requirements.
  • ALM Modelling and Analytics: Utilize advanced ALM modeling techniques to e and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Stakeholder and ALCO Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, regulators, auditors, and external partners, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and presentations to the board of directors, senior management, and other stakeholders on ALM activities, risk exposures, and financial performance.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field is required. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is nice to have.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in asset and liability management, treasury, risk management, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ALM modelling, financial analysis, and risk management tools. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Financial Planning and Business intelligence tools would be desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • B2 or similar English level.
  • Able to work as a team, communicating and sharing findings with team members.
  • Highly motivated candidate with sound judgment, able to handle confidential information, integrity, and a solid work
