JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Harrisburg, The Department of Continuing Education invites applications from individuals interested in teaching non-credit classes. Penn State Harrisburg is seeking a dynamic and experienced part-time instructor to teach Design Thinking and Innovation. This role involves delivering engaging and high-quality instruction to students, fostering a creative and innovative learning environment, and contributing to the development of the curriculum.
Job Duties
- Deliver high-quality instruction in Design Thinking and Innovation
- Develop and implement course materials, lesson plans, and assignments.
- Foster a creative and innovative learning environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in design thinking and innovation.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the curriculum and student experience.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field such as Design Thinking, Innovation, Business, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in design thinking, innovation, or related areas.
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience in design thinking and innovation.
- Experience with online teaching and learning platforms.
- Proven track record of innovation and creativity in teaching and professional practice.
Pay for these classes is determined based on instructor experience and the frequency and duration of each class, with no University benefits.
