Job Description:

The Head of Consequence Management and Customer Perimeter Control leads a cross-functional team responsible for overseeing the controls and governance required for managing customers who pose elevated risk to the Bank. 

This leader will collaborate closely with Compliance, Legal, HR, Risk, and Business leadership to ensure sound governance, fair accountability, and alignment with regulatory standards.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Develops and oversees a control framework to ensure adherence to KYC and AML Policy and Standards
  • Implements management reporting to escalate customers that require actions, including offboarding
  • Represents KYC Operations through presenting analysis and trends into 1st and 2nd line governance forums
  • Improves processes by identifying root causes and areas for automation, policy, process or training improvements
  • Builds and leads a high-preforming team with expertise in investigations, risk assessment, and governance
  • Runs inter system reconciliations to ensure that source systems align to TD KYC

Manages and builds Effective Partnerships, including:

  • Customer owners by providing transparency to the status of customers and consequences applied
  • Technology though identifying solutions to improve the speed and quality of processes
  • Internal and external control teams through providing evidence of supervision to support control assessments
  • FCRM by escalating risk trends and supporting AML based escalations
  • Core Operation and shared services through providing clear instruction for account actions and tracking progress  

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Provides absolute transparency to customer owners for the timelines and potential impacts of not meeting policy
  • Minimizes customer impact through early reporting and lifting of restrictions as reviews are completed

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Manages the firms Risk Appetite by restricting certain customers from the use of TDs products and services

Employee/Team Accountabilities:

  • Ensures a high performing culture through leadership and coaching
  • Designs and implements the future hybrid location model
  • Builds career paths to allow teams to move across KYC Operations function or into partner organizations
