Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (PHP) 

We are seeking a motivated and highly skilled Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in PHP to join our engineering team. The engineer will be responsible for designing and delivering clean, scalable, and testable solutions while helping maintain and modernize our applications. This role emphasizes PHP development as a core skill, while also involving work in TypeScript (Node.js) and Angular for full-stack contributions.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in software craftsmanship, code quality, code delivery, and best practices. We value pragmatic problem-solving, collaborative teamwork, and engineers who take ownership of delivering innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader and role model in designing and developing scalable, high-performance PHP-based applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in PHP, TypeScript in Node.js, and Angular.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to define cohesive solutions across the full stack.
• Lead discussions and provide guidance on PHP modernization, application architecture, and performance improvements.
• Participate in and drive code reviews, mentoring team members with a focus on PHP best practices.
• Work on projects that span multiple areas of the product, ensuring cross-team technical alignment.
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance developer productivity and code quality.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation for PHP and full-stack systems.
• Stay up-to-date with modern PHP frameworks, libraries, and industry trends.
• Engage actively in Agile/Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant focus on PHP development.
• Strong experience in software design, development, and architecture using PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, Phalcon).
• Solid knowledge of TypeScript (Node.js) and Angular (or other modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js).
• Proven experience maintaining and modernizing large-scale PHP codebases.
• Strong background in test-driven development and writing unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams and with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with modern Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
• Pragmatic mindset with openness to balancing best practices with business needs.

Desired Skills

• Experience working in PHP, Python, or JavaScript+Node.js codebases.
• Ability to help backfill unit and integration tests for legacy systems.
• Experience with performance tuning, refactoring, and incremental modernization of PHP systems.
