What will you do?
The Resource Manager Leader is responsible for managing all staffing opportunities and needs in partnership with the project managers, talent acquisition, and firm executives, while maintaining profitability and high utilization across the firm. The Resource Manager will also play a key role in the workforce planning process to maintain appropriate headcount levels and skillsets across the firm in accordance with demand and the financial plan.
- Proactively maintain a strong understanding of dss+ business and skills needed in our industries
- In conjunction with leaders, monitor and track sales opportunities to actively provide resource options for incoming needs from account teams
- Collaborate with project managers to gain a detailed understanding of staffing requirements
- Partner with the Industry leaders to understand and support local businesses and ambitions
- Identify appropriate resources (Full time employees and Contractors) to be sent to the project managers
- Manage resource and utilization reporting, forecasts, and plans
- Work with account teams to enable staffing visibility and proactively align resources with minimal bench time
- Own the resource management process to include the staffing and tagging process, availability and roll-off reporting, resource tracking for FTEs and contractors, inform leaders and project managers of potential issues and facilitate a seamless transition between projects
- Track the progression of our people through the staffing process on an ongoing basis and keep resources updated as opportunities arise and change for them
- Work with resources to have a thorough understanding of their skills and career goals, maintain feedback from project assignments for project teams
- Ensure resources have updated and completed resumes and skills utilizing dss+ template format
- Maintain skill competency matrix for full service and contract resources to track critical skills and identify development needs and recruiting areas
- Serve as a direct supervisor for the Resource Management team in USC region supporting all staffing, project initiation / loading, and assignment creation
- Partner with recruiting, project managers, and leadership on hiring needs and routinely prioritize requisitions as part of a wider workforce plan
- Partner with HR to address any performance concerns or low utilization for individuals
- Work to get ahead of demand, drive resource utilization, and manage bench optimization
- Determine best practices and suggest how to improve current practices
- Develop recommendations to solve problems and issues related to Resource Management
- Work with client account teams within the assigned market to understand, support, and provide visibility to successful resource management practices
- Work with account teams on working around PTO but still maximizing our billing. Assist with exception reporting for any resource not hitting targets with excessive PTO
- Assist with analyzing weekly reports outlining critical issues and future forecasts for the account leaders. Communicate critical issues and forecast to leaders
- Report basic resource management forecast notes and availability reports to leadership on a weekly basis
- Provide monthly Utilization & Chargeability reports to organization by individual with breakdown summary by practice area
- Review PTO taken, criteria met, time planned, and underutilization
- Partner with the team to ensure all resource availability data is reflecting reality – one version of the truth in Power BI
