Senior Trading Floor Engineer - France

<p>Description</p> <p>As part of a break/fix service the role holder will be responsible for providing Third Line Expert level technical support of the Trading &amp; Command real time operational systems providing leadership, guidance and resolution of complex technical issues, owning operational processes and ensuring support is provided to meet service level standards.</p> <p> </p> <p>Responsible for providing Expert level technical support/solutions enabling successful delivery for Deployment projects, delivering against the defined project plan. Provides support/leadership in the formulation of network technology, systems and information strategy and evolution plans.</p> <p> </p> <p>The role holder meets business objectives, solves business problems and furthers business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high level solutions. In addition may work proactively with the business to define new product developments.</p> <p> </p> <p>The role holder should leverage the experience of the relevant BT and Third Party wide professional communities to discharge these responsibilities, thus ensuring knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundary of the role. </p> <p> </p> <p>Key responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Within Trading &amp; Command system implementation/deployment projects, provide solution recommendations, planning and delivery of the required technical elements.</li> <li>Providing Third Line incident support, analysis and innovative solutions for Operations, for the Trading &amp; Command products and interfacing technologies, where appropriate.</li> <li>Providing On-Call support and back up technical services for Help Desk.</li> <li>Interfacing directly with internal and external customers/suppliers; architecture, engineering, service delivery and operations teams and provide representation on behalf of the company, developing optimum solutions and ratifying designs.</li> <li>The ability to build and own key relationships with the customer, stakeholders and project personnel as required.</li> <li>The identification, management and mitigation of risk associated with technical solutions being determined and delivered.</li> <li>The evaluation of situations using multiple sources of information. </li> <li>Based upon T&amp;C technology expertise/experience, provide support to the T&amp;C sales community for pre sales activities.</li> <li>To be the subject matter expert in their field, staying current with various technologies, organizational goals and industry trends to drive value.</li> </ol> <p> </p> <p>Key Skills/Experience required</p> <ol> <li>Must be fluent English speaker and writer.</li> <li>Must be qualified in CCNA Routing and Switching and it would be an advantage to have CCNA Voice as well.</li> <li>Technical Expert for BT Trading &amp; Command platforms (ITS &amp; BT Trade). Expert in the integration with customer LAN/WAN infrastructure and with Third Party interfacing technologies such as PBX (Cisco, Avaya) and Private Wires. Includes VoIP, IP Network, Network Appliance, SIP, DID/DDI, turret and transport technologies (experience typically gained over a period of five to ten years). </li> <li>Technical Expert in Voice Recording systems such as Verint, Nice, Verba as applicable to a Trading &amp; Command platform.</li> <li>Strong customer facing skills, in particular relationship and expectation management. Be able to work at all levels of management, interprets client needs, assessing full requirements, identifying solutions to standard and non-standard tasks/queries and offering assistance even when not asked.</li> <li>The ability to deal with stress, handle conflict situations and having the appropriate communication skills to have robust/difficult conversations with customers and/or third party suppliers as required.</li> </ol> <p> </p> <p>Location</p> <p>In daily commuting distance from Paris.</p> <p>Based in Paris.</p> <p>Job role demands ability to attend customer sites, mainly in France, but may also cover other financial centres in the rest of EMEA as well as the Americas and ASPAC. So a willingness to travel is essential.</p> <p> </p> <p>Hours</p> <p>Full Time, including On Call.</p> <p> </p> <p>Other attributes required</p> <ol> <li>Ability to adapt various systems and customer environments to a converged technology (i.e. convert a legacy TDM sites to a BT Trade site).</li> <li>Experience in configuring IOS based media gateway devices for ISDN PRI connections, as well as an understanding of advanced IP to IP gateway functionality is a plus.</li> <li>Personal awareness, flexibility, initiative and assertiveness as circumstances require.</li> <li>Strong Analytical skills.</li> <li>An understanding of the role of Operations involving troubleshooting practices and proactive/reactive tools are important.</li> <li>High Commercial awareness.</li> <li>Ability to work unsupervised and/or within a team.</li> <li>Report writing (Prog
