Senior Front End Engineer

Yahoo Sports connects fans to the sports and fantasy games they love most, providing personalized quality content and superior fan experiences every day.

As a Senior Front End Software Engineer at Yahoo Sports, you will specialize in building high performance, scalable, cross-browser compatible, accessible and elegant web applications with HTML5, CSS3, JS and other technologies.  You will work hand in hand with world-class teams of other software engineers and architects as well as backend engineers, cloud data experts and computer scientists to build amazing and emotional experiences that will delight our users.

Responsibilities:

• Build next generation applications for desktop and mobile browsers with an emphasis on emotional experiences and constant attention to scalability, performance, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.

• Work on Front End of core Sports product with integration across Fantasy Sports and rest of Yahoo network.

• Partner with Product and Design to redesign and implement user interfaces

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent (e.g. 5+ years work experience or IED/HID degree)

• Experience in web development and Front End engineering (or M.S. CS and 0)

• Proficiency in one or more Front End engineering skills including Javascript (React.js), AJAX, CSS3,, PHP

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. React.js or jQuery)

• Customer-focused, react well to changes, work with teams.

• Ci/CD experience

• Self-starter, team player

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with vanilla JavaScript

• Experience with node.js, React.js, or Next.js

• Experience with CVS, SVN, GIT, Hudson, jUnit, phpUnit

• Sports or digital media fan

The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
