Job Overview Summary

The Benefit Analyst is responsible for analyzing, administering, and managing employee benefit offerings and execution of supporting programs. This role will effectively manage vendor relationships and help with overall plan design, implementation, communications, maintenance, as well as ensure compliance with relevant regulations, evaluating effectiveness and employee support.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day benefit administration including enrollments, updates and terminations.
  • Ensure benefit deductions are accurately maintained, working with payroll team and conducting periodic system audits
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ensure benefit plan compliance including, ACA reporting, CMS reporting, NDT, 5500 data and reporting, keeping up to date on changes in laws and regulations
  • Responds to and resolve employee benefit questions and issues
  • Develop and maintain communication tools to enhance understanding of company benefits including new hires, recruits, terminated employees
  • Manage Open Enrollment process, communications and materials, and vendor requirements
  • Communicate benefits offerings to new hires as part of onboarding
  • Manage leave of absence administration including communications and counseling with employees and managers, as well as vendors, proper payment and benefit deductions
  • Manage company wellness campaign
  • Research, recommend and implement new benefits and process improvements
  • Work with HR leadership and benefit broker on plan design and evaluate current benefit programs and administer changes based on business strategy
  • Provide benefit and census data as needed
  • Maintain benefits module in HRIS including timely processing life event changes and new hires, ensuring file feeds are maintained
  • Manage benefit invoicing process to ensure accurate and timely payment
  • Help administer 401k offering and managing the plan for employees
  • Other duties as needed

Location

This role is open to candidates working in one of the following locations:

  • Preference to candidates in Columbia, MD as a hybrid role
  • Or remotely in the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones

Basic Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 -5 years’ experience in a benefits administration role
  • Understanding of employee benefits regulations
  • Experience with UKG Benefit Administration
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and web-based HR tools, including reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • CBP, CEBS or other Benefit Certification preferred
  • 2 years’ HR generalist experience preferred
  • Position requires a high level of responsibility regarding confidential information; must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Must be comfortable independently evaluating a situation, exercising good judgment and discretion, and independently making a decision matters of significance
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to influence, engage, and partner
