Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Computer Operations Analyst – Regional COSA (25-186) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position, located in Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO., plays a crucial role in our mission to support the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC hardware, software, and networks
  • Document and report all events/issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, test & real-world events
  • Assist in all hardware/software installations as directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO
  • Focus on Lab and Test activities
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, SCNP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, CCNA Security, etc.)
  • Position requires rotating 24/7 shift work and will be assigned to a shift and assignment (Ops or Training) to be determined by mission requirements. Some substitute rotation during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will be required
  • Must have experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments
  • Must have experience in system and/or network administration that includes:
    • UNIX
    • Linux
    • Windows
    • Cisco
    • Juniper
  • Must have experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
