Raytheon is hiring a Principal Software Architect to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.
What You Will Do
- Working together with the team to deliver capabilities to users with available resources
- Introduce modern architecture and design solutions and processes to improve the product
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks
- Help foster technical and professional development of the team through mentoring and coaching
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 8 years Software Engineering experience.
- Software architecting or designing experience.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience architecting/designing software to meet data processing performance requirements while providing effective presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to integrate a wide variety of applications from various source.
- Experience integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) products into technical solutions
- Experience Architecting using Microservices
- Experience integrating and use of AWS services with custom developed applications
- Experience developing containerized applications
- Experience integrating and use of Kubernetes
- Experience developing compliant solutions in a Design-to-Cost environment
- Experience developing solutions that implement and integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Security+ Certification
