The Role:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Ossia, you will be responsible for design and delivery of complex mixed-signal PCB-based systems used in consumer electronic devices. This role requires broad knowledge of electrical engineering practices at the PCB level, incorporating complex digital and analog components and working with the RF team to incorporate RF modules onto the PCB. We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals and practical experience in design documentation, test procedure and reporting; simulations; and working with technicians. Excellent technical and personal communication and coordination with other engineering disciplines, regulatory experts, and business development teams is central to the cross-team collaboration required for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Generate complex schematic diagrams based upon system requirements
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams on HW/RF/FPGA/SW
- Provide guidance in the selection of PCB material and stackup
- Provide floor planning and layout support to the PCB designer
- Prototype, test, and document designs in the lab
- Root cause analysis and mitigation in bring up of newly designed PCBs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Experience in the design of complex mixed signal PCBs
- Experience with schematic capture tools (preferably Altium)
- Experience with PCB tools (preferably Altium)
- Experience in PCB layout best practices
- Experience in component selections including power, data conversion and processors
- Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
- Good lab skills utilizing multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic/data bus analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
Preferred Requirements:
- Solution-oriented mindset with an expansive knowledge mixed signal hardware development
- Expertise with Altium
- Familiarity with HyperLynx
- Coding/scripting skills
- Familiarity with PCB fabrication basics toward designing high speed digital, analog and RF on same PCB
- Strong understanding of RF/wireless system architectures, baseband signal basics, software defined radios, basic RF building blocks
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working on cross-functional teams
- Able to document test procedures and test results such that they are reproducible by other engineers
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
- The successful candidate will be motivated and detail-oriented while showing a high standard of responsibility and ability to collaborate with colleagues.

Salary Range: 115,000–135,000K base, plus bonus and equity
