WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • The Transportation Support Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing transportation and on-site supervision to children in out-of-home care.
  • Provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the community
  • Provide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as required
  • Provide, strengthen and maintain a positive mentoring role by developing rapport with youth under supervision
  • Utilize de-escalation and intervention techniques to assist in stabilizing youth in crisis
  • Assist other program staff and intervene in crisis situations as necessary
  • Attempt to create, strengthen, and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between youth, caregivers, and other professionals involved in serving the youth
  • Provide completed documentation for services rendered within required timeframes to case management program staff
  • Assist with on-call when necessary in accordance with agency policy and program procedure
  • Maintain client confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutes, by obtaining needed releases of information
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preference given to candidates with childcare experience, experience working with teenagers, and/or experience working in the Child Welfare Dependency system.
  • Must have a valid driver license and auto insurance
