Respiratory - Student Tech - PRN

The Respiratory Student Tech is responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory services to infant, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Respiratory Tech, the Student Tech performs routine respiratory clinical care, including medication administration, arterial puncture, breathing exercises and retraining, initiation and monitoring of oxygen therapy, impedance apnea monitors and pulse oximeters. In addition, the Student Tech may perform critical care duties including the initiation of, management of, and discontinuation of mechanical ventilation, as well as endotracheal intubation, airway care, and attendance at announced cardiopulmonary and trauma resuscitations dependent upon the level of professional development attained.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
A. Education
B. Experience 1. No experience required beyond clinical experience obtained at completion of Junior year of a JRCRTE approved Respiratory Care Program
C. Interpersonal requirements
1. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, has a commitment to customer service.
2. Communicates effectively with all applicable customers and age groups.
3. Must possess ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
