About The Role

Fever is looking for a self-composed, resourceful, and highly adaptable US qualified litigation lawyer to oversee litigation strategy and execution. Reporting directly to the senior legal leadership of the company and located in the global HQ in Madrid, as litigation counsel you will familiarize yourself closely with Fever’s mission and vision, structure, strategy, and objectives, in order to drive strategies that promote and defend Fever’s interests in a wide variety of pre-litigation disputes, litigation, regulatory inquiries, and other adversarial proceedings in the US and, with the support of regional inhouse teams, globally. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders (including senior management, HR, finance, and business development, among others) and external advisers—directing outside counsel as needed—to assess and manage risk, and drive efficient conflict resolution. In this leadership role, you will guide the company through complex and interesting legal challenges on the path to responsible and conscientious growth. This role provides a unique opportunity for a creative lawyer to not only resolve disputes when they occur, but also to take an active role in shaping a strategic vision to maximize the long term prosperity of the company by identifying and mitigating risks before they materialize, and to grow into a senior leadership position within the department.

You will be an ideal fit for this role if you take pride in your ability to harmonize competing interests in the pursuit of just, pragmatic, and sustainable outcomes, and if you combine calm judgment with a penchant for effective execution to deliver results.

If you are excited to lead the conflict resolution function within an ambitious global industry leader as it navigates an ever-evolving legal landscape, all from a vibrant European capital, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

Managing a junior litigation counsel and coordinating through dotted line reporting to a wide range of regional in-house lawyers, you will be expected to take ownership of the dispute resolution matters in the US and similar jurisdictions, and coordinate the strategy of such matters elsewhere. You will:

  • Set and execute litigation, pre-litigation, and enforcement strategies across commercial, employment, IP, consumer, and other litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.
  • Drive litigation management, including early case assessment, steering external counsel (engagement, coordination and management), and settlement, trial, and appeal strategy.
  • Handle regulatory matters, including coordinating responses to government audits and other regulatory inquiries (subpoenas, investigations, and enforcement actions).
  • Work closely with Fever’s internal human resources and people management teams to ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international labor and employment legislation. Help guide global staffing strategy in an evolving global landscape.
  • Ensure prompt investigation and resolution of claims arising out of Fever’s Equal and Fair Workplace Policy. Promote fair and objective conflict resolution to ensure just outcomes for parties involved.
  • Work closely with Fever’s liability and crisis management teams in responding to incidents and continuously improve Fever’s risk assessment and management policies and procedures.
  • Implement matter-management metrics and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with the insurance team to ensure the company effectively liaises with insurers on notifications, coverage strategy, and recoveries.
  • Manage one or more junior
