This opportunity is located at our Sleep Lab in Colchester.

The UVMMC Sleep Lab is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient-centered Medical Assistants to help support our overnight operation.  In this role, employees will support our overnight Polysomnogram Technologists and assist with the overnight operations within the lab.  These tasks include helping to manage patient flow, reconciling medications, managing sleep lab inventory, coordinating logistical support for patients and families, and assisting with the general comfort and oversight of patients throughout these overnight procedures.  This role will also entail clerical support of the overall sleep operation by managing durable medical equipment orders and helping to prep documentation for upcoming patient visits to our sleep medicine clinic. 

This is an overnight position that includes night differentials up to $5.00/hour.

External candidates who have not worked within the UVMHN in the past year are eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000 gross. The bonus will be paid out at $500.00 following the first paycheck; the second installment of $1,500 will be paid upon completion of 6 months of satisfactory service in the same department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position assists with the overnight activities of a Sleep Lab and facilitates the flow of patients by providing clerical and clinical health care support to patients and family under the direction of a provider. The position requires mastery of basic clinical activities and some advanced clinical/clerical activities.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training in a relevant area preferred. CPR certification required.

EXPERIENCE:

One year experience providing or assisting in direct patient care required.
