We are on a mission to help sellers and brands of all sizes use advertising to drive meaningful impact for their businesses. As the Senior Product Manager, Ad Marketplace, you will lead core serving and marketplace tools. You will be responsible for essential systems that cover ad serving, bidding, targeting, and auction dynamics. You will ensure they are outstanding and deliver quick results for advertisers. You will guarantee advertiser budgets are spent efficiently on and off eBay to demonstrate maximum value. You will innovate within billion-dollar products by investing in new promising directions. You will accomplish this by bringing to bear traditional and generative AI to build major improvements in product capabilities. You will grow your product portfolio through continuous focus on growth and impact.
This role is ideal for a product manager ready to push the frontiers of ad tech. They must have the hunger and perseverance to make a sizable impact on our sellers, buyers, and eBay’s bottom line.
What you will accomplish:
Lead the roadmap for ad serving capabilities, auction mechanics, and core marketplace infrastructure
Lead the approach to the core ad stack, encompassing bidding algorithms, budget management, targeting, and goal-based optimization tools such as Target ROAS
Champion innovation in AI, generative models, automation, and intelligent defaults to transform the advertiser journey
Partner closely with commercial and finance teams to align technical roadmaps with overarching business strategy
Implement relentlessly on product requirements with engineering and analytics teams
Leverage AI/ML to optimize core ad serving, improving incremental sales velocity, advertiser ROAS, and budget utilization
Cultivate a culture of progress based on careful experimentation, A/B testing, and detailed data analysis
Align closely with executive leaders across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and Legal
What you will bring:
7-9 years of experience in technology product management, with 3–5 years of dedicated experience in digital advertising
In-depth understanding of key advertising technology, especially ad delivery infrastructure, auction processes, and central ad stack frameworks in marketplaces, e-commerce, or high-volume consumer platforms
Strong technical proficiency with a validated ability to understand how brand new backend systems advance product metrics
Deep analytical capability with a data-first approach and outstanding experimentation chops
Hands-on experience developing products powered by artificial intelligence, including direct exposure to generative AI technology and deep learning models
Outstanding storytelling and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior collaborators and cross-functional partners
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$183,600 - $245,100Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
