Position Highlights:

• SIGN-ON BONUS: $7,500

• Location: Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst, IL

• Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time

• Hours: Monday through Thursday (10 hour shifts), 10am to 8:30pm.

• On-call outside of normal business hours. On-call during major holidays, rotating with other team members

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Basic EEG technical training (a year or less)

• Three to six months of previous EEG experience, preferred

• Current CPR certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross

• Registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists, preferred

What you will do:

Under general supervision and according to established procedures, operates electroencephalograph (EEG) machine in order to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnosing brain disorders.  In doing so, reviews patients' medical charts, explains procedures to patients and/or families in order to allay anxieties and elicit cooperation, positions patients for testing and operates equipment. Assists in performing EMG tests as directed.  Performs newborn Hearing Screenings, in accordance with the State of Illinois guidelines.
