POSITION TITLE: Staff Accountant Level I
DEPARTMENT: Finance
GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H13—Non-Exempt
BADGE TYPE/COLOR: Key--Blue
REPORTS TO: Accounting Supervisor, Accounts Payable Supervisor, Regional Payroll Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB SUMMARY:
To ensure that general accounting records are handled in compliance with established regulations and policies.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
- Process journal entries
- Ensure compliance with regulations, GAAP, and Tribal policy
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Assist with answers to questions concerning accounts payable and payroll
- Process accounts payable and payroll
- Data entry; filing; assist with daily check runs, mailing and verifying addresses
- Handle request for information and data concerning accounting
- Perform daily tasks including data entry
- Perform account reconciliations and analysis as assigned
- Adding product purchased to the Item Master
- Adding products purchased to new Branch Plants
- Complete special projects and reports as needed
- Complete other clerical duties as needed
- Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
- Assist within the department for any and all duties as needed
- Perform other duties as asked by supervisor or manager
- Ensure competency of work from the standpoint of grammar, composition, and format
- Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Associates degree in accounting or a related field, preferred
- Five years’ experience in an accounting office setting required
- Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- General math skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn and to be adaptable
- Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work as business demands
- Self-starter, must work without close supervision with ability to work independently
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of business English and spelling
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and operate in stressful situations
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including adding machine, computers, fax machine and photo copier
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
