We are currently seeking a Linux / Unix Systems Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be managing, deploying, and maintaining classified IT infrastructures on a global scale. Linux System Administrators, internally known as Principal Analyst, infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
** This position is onsite in Richardson, TX. **
What YOU will do:
You will administer Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security.
You will use and develop with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
You will install, administer, and troubleshoot recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter).
You will work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
You will develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

Education & Experience:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications you must have:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI security clearance with CI polygraph security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND
Must have experience with Linux, hardware, troubleshooting, and scripting.
Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.
Full time 100% Onsite position
Must be able to lift 35 pounds for hardware installs.
Skills We Value:
Experience administering Windows based systems.
Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS and LDAP
Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.
