What's the Role?
We are looking for a Senior UX Research Manager to lead the research team and guide product strategy for our Retention and Growth organization.

As the Senior UX Research Manager you will be responsible for leading a group of UX Researchers that partner with teams of product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers as they plan, test and refine great experiences for our buyers and sellers. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, Research. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Lead a team of 3+ UX researchers, mentoring them on UX methods, prioritization and career development

  • Guide researchers on study design and wide range of generative and evaluative methods, including mixed-methods planning with quant and market researchers 

  • Apply agile research techniques and explore new ways to deliver rich insights in a fast paced environment

  • Collaborate and communicate in a way that amplifies the voice of our customers, ensuring that the teams’ insights are embedded and acted upon 

  • Partner with peer managers on other teams or in other departments—such as Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics

  • Run your own projects when the need arises

  • Partner with other research managers to grow and develop the research team via our toolkit, talent, and socialization techniques

  • Recruit and hire outstanding researchers and facilitate their onboarding experience

  • Directly contribute to our Research team’s strategy and focus areas
