Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our team in the Brandon/Riverview area.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of civil construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to help manage project schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and looking to grow into a Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in coordinating all phases of civil construction projects
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Help manage subcontractors, vendors, and purchase orders
- Assist with colored details and takeoffs
- Track project progress and help ensure timelines and budgets are met
- Coordinate with field superintendents and crews to support operations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
- Assist with invoicing, change orders, and cost tracking
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Help identify project risks and assist in implementing solutions
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies
- Participate in job site visits as needed
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, and tracking project approvals
- Support coordination with local agencies and inspectors (FDOT, County, Utilities)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in civil construction or related role
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Bluebeam and project management software preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment

- Work Location: In person (Riverview, FL)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
