We are looking for motivated students who want to gain hands-on experience at a global technology company while continuing their studies. Our summer positions offer the opportunity to work on real engineering and digital development projects alongside experienced colleagues in our R&D and business teams.

As a summer worker at Xylem, you will gain valuable experience, develop your technical skills, and collaborate with professionals across different disciplines.

Summer Projects 2026

Depending on your background and interests, you may work in one or more of the following areas:

Embedded Software Development (C++)
Support development of embedded software used in control systems and sensors for pump stations. Tasks may include improving existing applications and implementing new functionality in C++.

Python Tools & Test Automation
Improve and develop internal tools used for testing and interacting with embedded products. Work may include developing Python scripts, improving automation workflows, and supporting development teams.

Lab & Hardware Support
Assist with practical tasks in our development lab such as wiring, assembling test setups, preparing equipment, and supporting testing activities.

Control Systems & Sensor Software
Support the Data Systems, Controls & Sensors team in developing software used in control systems and sensors that are key components in pump stations.

Digital & AI Projects


Work on business and digitalization initiatives such as:

  • Exploring how AI can help identify dormant customers and automate follow-up communication

  • Investigating how different digital platforms (e.g., service tracking and spare parts platforms) can be integrated to enable direct ordering and improved workflows

Who we are looking for

We welcome students from high school, university, or technical programs who are interested in technology and innovation.

Relevant areas of study may include:

  • Computer science

  • Software engineering

  • Data science / AI

  • Electronics or embedded systems

  • Mechanical or systems engineering

  • IT or engineering-related programs

Experience or interest in one or more of the following is beneficial:

  • Programming (C++ or Python)

  • Data analysis and Excel

  • AI or machine learning concepts

  • Embedded systems

  • Technical lab work or hardware

  • Process mapping or digital systems integration

Personal characteristics

Practical information

You must be at least 18 years old and available to work 4–8 weeks during June–August.
