What You’ll Do
As a Tapping Setup/Operator you'll be part of our team located in Montpelier, IN. You’ll get to:
- Set up Tapping machines
- Trouble shoot machinery and quality issues
- Execute tapping department processes and procedures
- Provide management with supporting documents and data as required
- Notify supervisor to purchase tooling, taps, and machine repair parts as required
- Schedule parts for tappers and operators according to production schedule
- Understand tapping sequence
- Load machines with parts as required
- Operate PIV
- Clean out oil and parts from inside machines
- Keep tooling clean and in working order
- Perform training for department as necessary
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Able to work different shift to cover production needed
- Understand inventory system and tool re ordering

- High School Diploma or GED
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form
- Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Follows appropriate housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
- Practical application of proportion and geometric construction
- Organized -ability to maintain orderly work stations and tool crib area
