Job Description

Overview

The Supervisor of Warehouse and Logistics manages the overall storage and distribution activities of the ESA Charleston facility; assuring products, parts or supplies are shipped, distributed or received in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss and coordinates customs documentation for export shipping.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct employees in receiving, shipping, and warehousing.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments to assure less than 24-hour backlog goal is maintained.
• Coordinate customs documentation for export shipping.
• Coordinate movement of incoming international shipments.
• Schedule all Less than Truckload and Truckload transportation.
• Input and Query information in Customers Transportation Management Systems.
• Monitor and assure resolution of problem receipts.
• Monitor stocking activities to assure approved materials are stocked within timely manner.
• Monitor kitting activities to assure Production Orders are kitted within 4M days.
• Assure rapid support of shortage fills, material surveys of non-conforming parts.
• Assure inventory accuracy to 97% or greater by performing routine cycle counting audits.
• Participate in interdepartmental planning and management teams to improve processes within the organization.
• Assist in development of annual budgeting process for operating expenses and capital spending plan.
• Assist in Contract review for Transportation and Warehousing concerns.
• Maintain labor records in Data Collection system for all employees in the department.
• Assure procedures are adequately documented and maintained.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements, practices and standards.
• Secures all Government property in the custody of EFW, Inc.
• Identify and obtain staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.
• Assure employee conformance to establish safety, best practices and proper training of staff.
• Other duties as assigned by the director.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of functional experience
• 1-3 years of management experience
• Ability to manage non-exempt personnel.
• Knowledge of defense electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Ability to resolve manufacturing problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent team forming skills.
• Ability to effectively work with all management levels in the company.
