About the Position:
By approaching misconduct as an opportunity for holistic student development, the Office of Student Conduct fosters student learning, assists students in repairing harm caused from their actions, and facilitates opportunities for them to restore well-being within themselves, the campus community, and society. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Director, Office of Student Conduct (Student Services Professional IV). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the general direction of the Director for Student Conduct, the Assistant Director for Student Conduct will work independently to provide support to the different Colleges related to academic integrity and student conduct while also overseeing their own student conduct cases. The Assistant Director will facilitate College-specific training workshops regarding student conduct policies and procedures to faculty, staff, and students on behalf of the Office of Student Conduct. Meets, investigates, and adjudicates allegations of student misconduct, weighs evidence, conducts administrative reviews or disciplinary hearings, assigns, and monitors effective support referrals and educational sanctions, as appropriate. Addresses difficult individual, group or organizational problems by developing and recommending courses of action and implementing proposed solutions. Additionally, through referrals and consultations, the Assistant Director extends services to students who experience difficulties related to academic, emotional, behavioral, or university-related distress. Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution. Four years of professional student services work experience including experience advising students individually and in groups, as well as the analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
