About the Role:

The Gen Digital CSIS Engineering team provides the back-end services that powers Gen’s consumer facing applications and our agent tools. We currently serve over 500 million customers via our direct Gen-branded consumer products and partnerships. We are working on several interesting challenges and seeking passionate technologists to join the team. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic team environment on cloud-based services and products.

The Gen Digital Machine Learning and Predictive Services team is a part of CSIS Engineering and is seeking talented interns to help build applications to retain customers and decrease churn, streamline data services and analytics, develop and audit automated testing, design services for intelligent customer routing, scale applications to handle substantially increased capacity. In this position you will have hands-on access to a variety of modern technologies, including Cloud AI frameworks, applying them to solve the unique and interesting challenges arising from application development, scaling, and operations. Among other technologies, you’ll leverage SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud services and modern dev-ops to make a real impact for millions of customers, all while working with a supportive team that will help you get your career off to an exciting start.

Responsibilities:

• In the Gen Engineering team, you will develop innovative products that combat cybercrime worldwide and protect our customers' data and identities. You will build testing and QA frameworks for our consumer data to understand customer journey patterns.
• You will become skilled in a wide variety of technologies and learn to meet the challenges related to design, implementation and support of production software.
• Work alongside, and be mentored by, a world-class engineering team, learning industry best practices while delivering industry leading security solutions.

Qualifications:

• Working towards Bachelor’s or Post graduate degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong knowledge of SQL/Data warehousing and NoSQL databases with the experience in QA and testing.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (ie. Python, BASH, etc.) to accomplish non-trivial workflows. Knowledge of Ruby is preferred.
• Prior experience with Java, C/C++, HTML desired.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Algorithms and data structures.
• Good team player.
